Interio is an independently owner-edited directory and planning resource for people choosing interior designers, architects, lighting specialists, contractors and trades. It is currently covering Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane, and will add cities over time as further collections in the same directory. Every listing is checked against the practice’s official website and other official sources and shows its review date.
The site has one practical purpose: help a homeowner avoid losing money to a bad contractor decision. It connects source-backed professional records with guides for verifying a practice, controlling advances, checking materials, comparing fees and quotations, defining scope and preparing an appointment.
Why scam prevention comes first
In Interio’s experience of reviewing quotations and contracts, interior projects in India are commonly paid largely in advance, against promises rather than measured work. That structure is where the losses Interio hears about happen: a large advance, a vague quote, a material swap after approval, or a contractor who stops coming once the demolition is done. Interio’s editorial position is simple. Verify the contracting entity before the first payment. Keep the first payment small and tie every later payment to evidence you can check. Confirm materials on site against the approved sample. Know the complaint route before you need it. The trust guides on verification, advance payments, material checks and dispute recourse carry that position into practice.
Interio does not publish blacklists, does not decide that a named person committed fraud and does not take fees or commissions from any practice.
What Interio publishes
Interio publishes two kinds of information:
- Professional profiles and directories. These summarize facts a practice publishes on its official website, including its office location, services, sectors, principals and selected business details.
- Editorial planning guides. These explain project decisions such as selecting a professional, comparing a fee proposal, reading a BOQ or defining turnkey responsibility.
Every profile links to the primary source and displays the date on which it was reviewed. Every guide displays its editorial author, internal reviewer and substantive modification date.
Category owners keep different roles visible. For example, the Mumbai lighting designers and consultants directory distinguishes architectural consultancy from decorative product, supply and installation work instead of treating every lighting business as equivalent.
What a listing means
A listing means Interio found enough relevant public information to create a useful factual record. It does not mean that Interio has inspected the firm’s work, checked its insurance, confirmed its current registration, spoken to its clients or endorsed its commercial terms.
Interio currently accepts no payment for inclusion, ranking or a preferred position. Directory order is not a league table and should not be interpreted as “best,” “top” or recommended.

How editorial guidance is produced
Guides are written under the organizational byline Interio Editorial and checked under Interio Research Desk. These are publishing functions, not invented people, independent professional reviews or qualifications.
Research and drafting tools may assist with source discovery, structure, consistency and quality checks. A claim is not considered reliable merely because a tool generated it. Material factual claims must be supported by an identified source, a clearly described editorial method or an explicit limitation.
Where a named architect, designer, contractor, lawyer or quantity surveyor reviews an article, the page will identify that person and the scope of their review. Until that happens, readers should not treat an internal review label as professional advice.

Pricing and project outcomes
Interio does not publish a universal Mumbai project rate without a defined area, scope, specification, date and evidence set. A fee percentage, per-square-foot rate or turnkey total can only be understood alongside what it includes.

Project and image sources
Interio does not republish portfolio photography as its own work or manufacture case studies. Profile visuals are attributed to the linked official practice, where readers can review the work in its original context.
Future case studies will only be published with permission and evidence for the professional, location, scope and outcomes described.
