Andheri directory

Interior designers and contractors in Andheri, Mumbai.

Every practice in this shortlist publishes an Andheri East or Andheri West office on its official website. The list deliberately includes design studios, an architecture practice and execution contractors because those roles solve different parts of an interior project. Compare the published evidence here, then confirm project fit, the responsible team, scope, fees and availability directly.

Andheri decision guide

Start with Andheri East or Andheri West, then test project fit.

Andheri is not one interchangeable search area. The current East shortlist is concentrated around Sahar Road and established commercial addresses, while the West evidence includes offices near Veera Desai Road and Azad Nagar. Start with the side that makes surveys and site reviews practical, but do not let proximity replace relevant experience. Ask each practice to show a completed project with a similar property type, decision structure, building constraints and delivery role. A nearby commercial fit-out contractor is not automatically the right residential designer, and an architecture studio is not automatically appointed for execution.

Decide whether you need design, architecture or execution.

A designer may lead planning, finishes, furniture and visual coordination. An architect may also address architectural changes, consultant inputs and approval-sensitive work. A contractor may price and execute a defined design, while a design-and-build firm may combine several responsibilities. These labels are not standard scopes. Before comparing quotations, state who will survey the property, prepare drawings and schedules, coordinate building services, source materials, supervise work, record variations and close defects. If an item is not assigned in writing, assume it remains a coordination risk rather than an included service.

Give every shortlisted practice the same site information.

Share the measured or available plan, photographs, building name, project type, target use, approximate area, desired completion window and a realistic budget range. Add society or building rules for working hours, contractor entry, lift and loading access, debris movement, material storage, fire or services permissions and noisy work. Ask what must be surveyed before the programme and quotation can be relied on. Comparable inputs make differences in design fees, contractor preliminaries, travel, site supervision and lead times visible instead of hiding them inside apparently similar totals.

Compare official project evidence before style claims.

Use each profile's official-source links to inspect the practice's stated services and work. For the closest comparable project, ask where it was completed, what year it finished, its approximate size, the practice's exact appointment and which consultant or contractor responsibilities sat elsewhere. Request drawings or schedules that demonstrate the claimed role where appropriate. Photography can establish that a project exists in a portfolio, but it does not prove budget control, programme performance, client satisfaction or current availability. Verify those points directly and do not treat this directory as a rating or endorsement.

Assign building, consultant and specialist interfaces.

Identify structural, waterproofing, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fire, accessibility, acoustic, lighting, kitchen, technology or other specialist input relevant to the actual scope. Name who appoints, briefs, pays, coordinates and accepts information from each party. Separately record building, landlord or society review, who prepares and submits the required information, applicable charges and the evidence needed before affected work starts. A designer, architect or contractor may coordinate another party without accepting that party's design or compliance responsibility; put the lead, information, review and approval roles in writing.

Build a shortlist from evidence, not a universal “best” label.

There is no defensible single best interior designer in Andheri for every project. Reduce the list to two or three practices whose published sector and service evidence match the brief, then run the same interview and quotation process with each. Compare inclusions, exclusions, drawing stages, named team members, meeting and site-visit allowances, procurement responsibility, payment milestones, taxes, reimbursable expenses, change-control rules and handover documents. Record the comparison before negotiation so a lower headline fee does not win by omitting coordination or deliverables that the project still requires.

Contract the programme, changes and final closure.

Build the programme from access, survey, brief approval, design decisions, building review, specialist inputs, pricing, long-lead selections, procurement, contractor mobilization, inspections, testing, snagging and handover. Assign each dependency an owner, due date and evidence of closure. Define who may approve drawings, samples, substitutions, additional cost and additional time, and require a written record before affected work proceeds except under an agreed emergency process. Link payments to accepted outputs, verified procurement or completed work. At closure, reconcile variations and measured work, record defects and collect the agreed warranties, manuals, keys, tests, schedules and final drawings.

Before you shortlist

Compare locality, role and evidence in that order.

  • Confirm whether the named office is in Andheri East or West and which team would actually survey and attend your site.
  • Ask for one completed project with comparable use, scale and building constraints, plus the practice's exact appointment on it.
  • Separate design fees, contractor pricing, procurement, consultant costs, approvals, taxes and reimbursable expenses.
  • State who owns drawings, services coordination, site observations, programme updates, change orders and defect closure.
  • Use the same brief, site information and commercial assumptions for every proposal.

Questions to ask

  • Which Andheri office and named team members would lead this project?
  • Is your proposal design-only, architecture, execution-only or design and build?
  • Which drawings, schedules, surveys and site visits are included?
  • What is excluded, provisional or dependent on a later site investigation?
  • How will changes to scope, cost and programme be approved and recorded?
